Tabled from TSC meeting on 5/28/15 with request have representative from the Committee for the Disabled present at the TSC meeting on 6/25/15
06/25/15 – John Poignand spoke to the TSC about the request made of behalf of the Chatham Committee for the Disabled. He discussed signage options, crosswalk colors and needs along Main Street and comparisons to signage in Harwich. George Myer spoke to the committee about crosswalk signage differences in various towns and mentioned Harwichport signage. Also spoke about having signs that post the fine amount for crosswalk violations. Committee members agreed that signage could be improved and standardized. Ron Meservey suggested that a walk-through and survey of signage on Main Street be conducted by the committee members and committee liaisons. John Cauble explained the Massachusetts law and fines on crosswalk violations and pointed out that crosswalk markings/styles vary across the Cape. The request was tabled until the September meeting when the results from the signage survey/walk-through would be discussed.
Tabled from TSC meeting on 9/24/15 for a Site Visit (Walk-through & survey of signage on Main Street/Downtown) with committee members and committee liaisons in September. Scheduling of this Site Visit was delayed until new permanent DPW Director is hired.
04/28/16 – Site Visit scheduled for May 26, 2016 with Thomas Temple, DPW Director and committee members.
