Pursuant to Governor Baker’s March 12, 2020 Order Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law, G.L. c. 30A, §18, and the Governor’s March 23, 2020 Order imposing strict limitations on the number of people that may gather in one place, this meeting of the Chatham Historical Commission is being conducted via remote participation. Every effort will be made to ensure that the public can adequately access the proceedings as provided for in the Order. • Status of Stop Work Order & revision of determination – 216-220 Main Street.
• Approval of revised application form & process/guidelines, submission requirements and adherence to Historical Commission Decisions/Determinations.
• Process and options for noncompliance of determinations.
• Demolition by Neglect/Property Maintenance Bylaws Review – Stephanie Hamilton.
• Proposed Zoning Bylaw changes to Enhance Historic Preservation – Status following May 4, 2021 meeting.
• Former, Stage Island, US Coast Guard Boat House– Form B, submission, status on potential utilization as upweller.
• 2021 Preservation Awards Committee – Results of May 16th Awards Ceremony.
• Status on April 12,2021 MHC Correspondence requesting response to comments on South Chatham National Register District Nomination.
Chairman’s Report:
• Status of Current Administrative Reviews & Ratification.
• Status of Current Demolition Delays.
• Status on 68 Shell Drive, - Proposed relocation of historic home on property, by owner, awaiting Cons Com decision - meeting scheduled on 5/12/2021 & ZBA decision – meeting scheduled on 6/24/2021. Proposed relocation of historic Barn to Nye Museum Sandwich or NFA, awaiting demolition permit.
• Monomoy Theatre Property, 776 Main St, Status of NRD application with MHC, (on hold by owner) – HBDC approved demolition of structures, other than theatre and Washington/Taylor home. The Planning Board approved the Preliminary Subdivision.
Issues on hold due to COVID-19, limitations:
• Archaeological survey of Chatham Cemeteries. Form E’s” – Steve Burlingame update.
• Update of CHC Town Wide Archaeological Survey/Report/Form “D’s”, with recent archaeological surveys/digs. Nickerson Family Assoc./Conservation Foundation/Atwood CHS sites.
• Review of Chapter 158 bylaw, re: current 75 year threshold for acceptance.
• Development of Preservation Plan.
• Administrative Review Process, expansion in future on the determination of Historical Significance.
