Pursuant to Governor Baker’s March 12, 2020 Order Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law, G.L. c. 30A, §18, and the Governor’s March 23, 2020 Order imposing strict limitations on the number of people that may gather in one place, this meeting of the Chatham Historical Commission is being conducted via remote participation. Every effort will be made to ensure that the public can adequately access the proceedings as provided for in the Order. Application No: 20-036 To be heard in accordance with Chapter 158 (Demolition Delay Bylaw) of the Town of Chatham General Bylaws, pursuant to the Notice of Intent to Demolish or Partially Demolish (For proposed addition) a Historic Building or Structure Located at: 66 Happy Valley Road; filed by: David Lyttle, Ryder & Wilcox, Inc., PO Box 439, So. • Status of and discussion Potential Zoning Bylaw changes to Enhance Historic Preservation – Aly Sabatino
• Preservation Awards – Update on Committee Actions
• Adherence to Historical Commission Decisions/Determinations - Review of the process
• Review of Historical Commission Rules and Regulation- Proposed Administrative Review (R. Lear) – Public hearing in early January
• Stage Island, US Coast Guard Boat House, Historical Significance Resolution – Update…Eric dray to proceed with preparation of Form B
Chairman’s Report:
• Status of Current Demolition Delays.
• 68 Shell Drive, - MHC Letter 10/6/20, accepting National Register of Historic Places “eligibility”- update on saving in place or relocation of structures -Nye Museum acceptance of barn (to be flaked/relocated this winter) – Demolition must commence by 1/8/2021 to avoid returning to CHC for another determination.
• Monomoy Theatre Property, 776 Main St, Status of NRD application with MHC, (on hold by owner) – Update on results of HBDC meeting requesting demolition of all but two buildings on the site
• South Chatham Village, Status of NRD application with MHC, (in process at MHC)
Issues on hold due to COVID-19, limitations:
• Archaeological survey of Chatham Cemeteries. Form E’s”
• Update of CHC Town Wide Archaeological Survey/Report/Form “D’s”, with recent archaeological surveys/digs. Nickerson Family Assoc/Conservation Foundation/Atwood CHS, sites.
• Demolition by Neglect/Property Maintenance Bylaws
• Review of Chap 158 bylaw, re current 75year threshold for acceptance
