Agenda for the Shellfish Advisory Committee meeting to be held on Monday, December 17, 2012 in the club room at the Chatham Community Center at 4:00 PM:

1.	Review minutes.
2.	ARC seed cost comparison. Shellfish Constable Renee Gagne has more information about pricing for quahog seed that is “ready to be distributed.”
3.	John Garey will report on his meeting with Aquaculture Research Corporation representative(s) about the county purchase plan of ARC.
4.	A scallop dredging restriction has been proposed in the area known as The Southway. The SAC did this last year to protect seed scallops. Hand picking could still be allowed. If approved, a start date will be determined by the committee.
5.	Commercial scalloping on Sundays through March 31, 2013 has been proposed, and if approved, a start date will be determined by the committee.
6.	Eider depredation; single cannon deployment:
i.	Issues, including permitting, harassment of co-existing species, and effectiveness on nearest mussel beds should be discussed.
ii.	If the SAC approves deployment, a proposal must be presented to the Selectmen and include:
1.	Placement location and orientation.
2.	Time period (AM start time to PM stop time).
3.	Frequency (how often it would be set to go off).
4.	Duration (how long will it be out there).
Other methods to disperse Eiders may be discussed including anchoring a passive boat or buoy with scare face over mussel bed, underwater perpetual sound system and encouragement of hunting and boat traffic divergence.
7. Any other issues that committee members may want to discuss briefly may do so here; however, no vote may be taken on these issues at this time. Any issues to be voted on must be published in a future meeting agenda and posted for public assay prior to that SAC meeting.
8.	Set next meeting date.
9.	Adjourn.
