Agenda for the Shellfish Advisory Committee meeting to be held on
Wednesday, October 17, 2012 in the club room at the Chatham Community Center at 4:30:
1. Review minutes.
2. Shellfish Advisory Committee member Jim Blanchfield has asked to revisit the harbormaster discussion from the September 19, 2012 SAC meeting.
3. Capri Lane pier proposal.
a. Capri Lane LLC is proposing a pier in Oyster Pond.
b. They are asking for a conservation variance to build the pier.
c. They feel that the pier prohibition does not apply because they are an association and that this is not a private pier as defined in the town by-laws.

4. Shellfish Regulations Discussion.
Shellfish Suspension Policy:
a. Discussion of current policy:
i. Violation verification.
ii. Complaints may be filed with Shellfish Constable.
iii. Other suspension policy considerations.
iv. Shellfish Constable has the right to use discretion.
b. Proposed suspension regulations change:
1st violation: warning
2nd violation: 7 day suspension
3rd violation: 28 day suspension
4th violation: 84 day suspension
5th and future violations: 1 year suspension
c. Statute of limitations:
i. If no violation occurs within a period of time to be determined by the SAC, the suspension durational schedule can be reinitiated.
ii. All violations will remain on record.
d. Other regulation changes may be discussed, but will have to be placed on a future agenda to be acted upon.
5. ARC Update.
6. Any other issues that committee members may want to discuss briefly may do so here; however, no vote may be taken on these issues at this time. Any issues to be voted on must be published in a future meeting agenda and posted for public assay prior to that SAC meeting.
7. Set next meeting date.
