The 24-hour Dispatch Committee was established to coordinate moving from a local dispatch system to being dispatched by Shelburne Falls Control. This committee then coordinated moving from Shelburne Falls to Winchendon. The committee is responsible for the communications infrastructure for Royalston's public safety organizations including the PD, the FD, the DPW and Emergency Management. This committee also manages the budget items relating to this infrastructure but at present these items are simply submitted at the existing run rate. The Committee continues to be appointed in case an issue arises that must be considered but it does not meet on a regular basis.
