The Emergency Management Team for the Town of Barre has been notified by the
Massachusetts Department of Public Health that the first confirmed case of COVID-19 has been
reported in the Town of Barre. The patient is currently being treated by the appropriate medical
services and all of the proper protocols are currently being implemented. I respectfully request
that
everyone respect the patient’s privacy during this time.

I understand
that many of our residents are extremely concerned about the Coronavirus. Barre
Fire would like to remind everyone that the best thing that you can do is to stay home, stay
informed and follow the guidance that is being put out by the DPH and the CDC. If you must go
out, please maintain your social distancing of at least 6 feet.

I would like every resident to know that the Barre Fire/EMS Department, Barre Police
Department, Town Administrator, Public Works Department, and the Barre Board of Health are
working very closely to ensure that all of the necessary actions are being implemented to ensure
the safety of the residents and that the Town continues to receive
the best Emergency Service
possible during this time.
