Information for Meeting of Board of Planning and Community Development

Call to order

This meeting is primarily a Training session with Town Clerk and Town Counsel for all BPCD members

Additional items requested to be discussed by Town Manager:

1)	Discussion of proposed street naming policy (copy attached).  The Town’s general bylaws authorize the Planning Board to adopt policies concerning the naming of streets.  The Town also has an existing Street Naming Committee comprised of the DPW Supt., Town Clerk, Fire and Police Chiefs and Assessor to ensure compliance with E-911 and public safety concerns and to make recommendations.  Attached is a proposed written policy for the Board’s consideration.  The  Town Clerk obtained the boilerplate from another community and the Board of Selectmen voted to recommend it be forwarded to the Planning Board for adoption.

2)	Update on recruitment for Director of Planning and Development.  Please see position posting attached.  I will discuss the hiring process and how best to include the BPCD in meeting the finalist candidates.
