1.Secretary Report. 

2.Welcome to Marie Stranger, our newest DBC volunteer.

3.Treasurer’s Report.

4.First business meeting of season 2021, has been rescheduled one week early for Thursday 29 Aril from 3-5 PM [ date conflict for co-chair]. The first Thursday of May had been previous date. However, the next formal business meeting will return to the usual first Thursday of the month, 2 September, 3-5 PM. Informal business is conducted weekly during scheduled maintenance gathering June through the October growing season. Due to the corona virus epidemic, the Town Hall’s Callahan Room may not be an option for this first formal business meeting. Alternative venues: the Dalton CRA Gazebo, weather permitting, or on-line Zoom, hosted by DBC Co- chair Bob Merry. Will contact the Dalton Town Clerk for Callahan Room availability update.

5.Early evaluation of all in-ground gardens: clean up spaces, tilling, Assessment for needed soil enhancement. Dates/times.  Ordering new soil? Trenching before planting. Dates/times. Addition of Miracle Grow when planting? Rose bush pruning? Tilling 707 Site before early pansy planting? Two flats of pansies, Jaeschke’s?

6.Garden design: same as 2020? Other? Plants ordered last season from Blossoming Acres:
Medians: Osteospermum [South African Daisy] # 55, deepest pink. Other? The [ extra ] bright yellow osteo’s with blue center, purchased after initial order,  were hardier last year.
Snow Princess Allyssum, # 8 North Street. Wahconah #10. The 707 Site #4.  One plant for South street.  Peter suggests no alyssum, marigolds only in that spot.
Marigolds, bright lemon, 3 flats and bi-color 2 flats. Each flat contains 36 plants.  Total 180 
Blue Victoria Salvia, 2 flats. Total 72 plants.
Bridge Baskets, Supertunia, Night Sky # 32, with Pink Sky # 16. Also, # 8 Sweet Potato vine. When to order plants?  Lenita keeps a running list for payment [ mid to end of June] before Town’s1st July’s budget close.

7.Library Baskets:  Maureen has volunteered to care for baskets during the season. Maureen asking for suggestions in selection of shade loving plants for these above ground containers.  Fountain Fern? Last year #12 Coleus and #2 Sweet potato vine. DBC has adequate potting soil from last season’s donation from L.P. Adams. 

8.Ask Dalton Highway to evaluate baskets/boxes for need of repair before delivering.  Date/time to be arranged. 

9.Farmer’s Market to open [weather dictates] Saturday 1 or 9 May. No Wednesday market.

10.Additional materials: cable ties, plant food, additional soil, hoses.  Other?

11.Watering, early and often once plants are in ground. Hoping Mother 
Nature will be generous. Any ideas? Bridge Baskets, 3X’s per week. Library schedule?
