Information for Meeting of Broadband/MLP

In light of the current public health restrictions, Governor Baker issued an order to suspend certain provisions of Open Meeting Law. The Town of Shutesbury will now hold all its public meetings via remote participation using Zoom.com until further notice. The public can access the virtual meetings by internet enabled devices or by telephone. A recording must be made of every meeting and will be available to the public. Web Instructions: To join a virtual Zoom meeting, find the URL with the specific, nine-digit Meeting ID number at the top of the agenda posted on the town calendar. Copy and paste the URL into your web browser.

If the meeting URL doesn’t work for you, go to www.zoom.us. Click on Join a Meeting. Enter the URL into the Meeting ID space and click join. It is highly recommended that you install the Zoom app if you’re calling in from a smartphone or iPad device.

Telephone Instructions: Find the Meeting ID number at the top of the agenda posted on the town calendar. The Meeting ID number is the last nine-digit number at the end of the URL. A few minutes before the meeting, dial 1 646 558 8656, then put in the Meeting ID number.

If you are new to video conferencing here are some helpful hints:
-Fifteen minutes before the meeting get yourself to a quiet room with a strong internet connection.
-Open a web browser and go to the URL meeting link provided by the meeting host.
-You’ll go directly to the Zoom page. The first thing you see will be audio options. You can choose to speak and listen by calling in to a regular phone conference line (the phone number to call in will be shown) OR you can indicate you want the audio to go through your computer microphone and speakers.
-Note the microphone and video icons in the lower left of the screen. Use these to mute and unmute yourself and turn on/turn off your video feed of yourself.
