We are scheduled to meet with the Advisory Board Thursday, February 13 at 7:00 p.m. Brenda has created a budget for FY21 as requested at level funded. She has also created a presentation based on the schedule of the minimum wage increase for the next five years, amounts to .75 each year until January 1, 2023 when the minimum wage will be $15.00 per hour. Brenda will submit wages with .75 added to current wage for all staff. It was suggested a 2.5% increase may occur this year FY21 and the Collins Center report was mentioned, this .75 increase is NOT the 2.5% COLA increase.
Water bills past two usage was 4700, and 4600 we paid the minimum $55 for 5000. Sarah Heller stated they paid both bills at $55. (Brenda does not have the amount used.) The town hall gets an abatement from the water commissioners for years, their usage was about 6500. Since we are not a ‘household’ and with low water use, how does this impact our research for answers to our septic problems? Water department charges other town departments for ‘revenue’.
The staff and Brenda have two websites we are taking responsibility for; merrickpubliclibrary.org and brookfieldsresearch.com.
Merrickpubliclibrary.org. This site was created by Phil Mailloux 12 years ago, although he maintained it, the site was never up to date and appears dated. We are asking him to transfer the site to the library and it has to be in an individual’s name, no organizations are allowed. Brenda would like to (nominate) Matt Bansfield as a member of the Board of Trustees and tech savvy to hold that position. The staff Julia and Carrie will maintain the site.
Brookfieldsresearch.com Dan Hamilton created this valuable research site which encompasses all of the Quaboag Plantation and more. We have asked Marie Oprica to give us an estimate on maintance and fees for the site and she will manage. Brenda will request and annual grant from the Quaboag Historical Society to fund this project and intend to ask Amy Dugas to be the individual on the account.
