ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Brookfield Ecumenical Food Pantry:  is always looking for your help in the form of cash or donations.  Please contact either Louise Woodard at 508-867-3891 or Pauline Walker at 508-867-2281 to help your neighbors.  The Food Pantry is open every Wednesday and Saturday from 9:30 am to 11:00 am.

Annual Town Election and Special State Senatorial Primary:  Monday, April 30, 2013 at the Town Hall.  The polls will be opened from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm

REVISED Annual Town Election dates (from the Town Clerk):

Nomination papers are currently available at the Town Clerk’s office

Last day to obtain and return nomination papers: (49 days before election)Tue. Mar.12, 2013- 5:00 P.M.

Last day for registrars to certify Nomination Papers: (35 Days before election) Mon. Mar. 26, 2013- 5:00 P.M.

Last day for candidates to withdraw by Letter to the Town Clerk: Mon. Mar. 26, 2013 5:00 P.M.

Last day to register to vote for Annual Town Election (20 days before election):  Wed. Apr. 10, 2013 9:00 A.M. to 8 P.M. 

April 10th Wednesday is the DEADLINE to change political party or register to vote for the Annual Town Election and State Primary On Tuesday April 30th. The Town Clerk's Office is open that day (Wednesday April 10, 2013) from 9:00am to 8pm.

What this means is if you are a Democrat and wish to take a Republican ballot this will be the last day to change registration.  Unenrolled (in a particular party) voters can declare their party preference on the day of election at the polls.

If you are out of town on Election Day you may apply for an absentee ballot at the Town Clerk’s office.  The DEADLINE to complete an application form for Absentee Ballots is Monday April 29th at 12 NOON. Please call the Town Clerk's office if you have any questions at 508-867-2930 X 12

Public Hearing FY Elementary School Budget:  A public hearing will be held to discuss the proposed Brookfield Elementary School budget for 2013 – 2014 on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 6:30 pm at the Brookfield Elementary School.  Copies of the proposed budget are available from the Office of the Principal at Brookfield Elementary School.  Note:  The regular school committee meeting will begin at 6:00 pm.
