Brookfield, MA Historical Commission

The Historical Commission works for the preservation, protection and development of historical or archeological assets of the town. We are required to conduct researches for places of historic or archeological value and cooperate with the state archeologist in conducting such researches or surveys. We may advertise, prepare, print and distribute books, maps, charts, plans and pamphlets which we deem necessary to do our work in protecting and preserving such places. We recommend to the Board of Selectmen and to the State about these protected areas. We strive to educate through workshops & events and work in tandem with other town commissions on historic landscape management and conservation of historic trails & scenic roadways.
